For further details, refer to our organizational website: https://www.vrockcompany.com/Scope of Work:The Analyst will be a critical member of the VRock team working toward shaping policies that contribute to the timely implementation of projects in Nepal’s energy and infrastructure sectors. The Analyst will be responsible for leading the assigned tasks as part of VRock’s broader management and development advisory service deliverables. An ideal candidate should be a team player, open to new ideas, willing to update existing skills and master new concepts while thriving in a dynamic and inclusive work environment for creative problem-solving. The responsibilities for the position will include the following:

  • Compile pertinent information and synthesize clear takeaways using qualitative and quantitative methods to apprise the Project Manager and VRock management in shaping the organization’s management and development advisory services.
  • Review relevant policies, spanning across all tiers of government in areas related but not limited to investments, public-private partnerships (PPPs), industry registration, business compliance and approvals and provide inputs to shape critical reforms for timely implementation of projects across Nepal’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Identify key stakeholders and establish trust-based relationships for effective engagement, including with regulators, government officials, private sector professionals and development partners.
  • Travel to and lead on-site engagement activities with VRock partners and clients; this will include drafting project descriptions, organizing workshops, seminars, and orientation sessions aimed at enhancing the professional and institutional capacity of partners across all tiers of government in the areas of financial, economic, project development, inclusive and sustainable growth, and other related matters.
  • Liaise with the team to understand client requirements and assist in conducting necessary due-diligence assessments including feasibility studies, environment and social assessments, financial modelling, cost-benefit studies, and other analytical appraisals for effective problem solving as per identified needs of the client.
  • Share timely updates on delegated responsibilities with the project manager, including through preparation of progress reports, status update reports and evidence of achieved milestones against project deliverables in accordance with the program objectives and milestones.
  • Coordinate with sectoral experts, senior consultants, and members of the VRock team to define quantitative and qualitative indicators, parameters and tools for effectively monitoring and evaluating project targets and program objectives.
  • Provide operational support for travel and field-based activities and perform other tasks as assigned by the project manager and VRock management.

Job Specification

  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Business Management, Public Policy, or a related discipline from top-tier educational institutions in Nepal and abroad
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior work experience for undergraduate degree holders and 2 years for master’s degree holders in a similar project environment is required
